Well, the decent ones anyway.
For some unknown reason I became convinced I didn't have to use flash, so half of my photos were all blurry...VERY annoying considering beneath the blur they are really cool - there was one of Dan mid jump :(

Just been speaking to a friend on MSN who I haven't spoken to for ages. She moved to New Zealand about 5 years ago...haven't seen her for 4 years. She's brunette now which confused me as she used to be really blond! I also discovered she's coming to England in September for a few weeks so hopefully we'll get to meet up!
I was nastily surprised at my reaction to her question of "how have things been going for you?" or something to that effect. I suddenly felt really not very happy, and found myself realising that 2006 really was a disturbing year. From July onwards things went downhill and I'm still feeling the after effects and trying to...er...climb back up in time for uni.
Grr I have a lump in my throat now...*scowls*

It's a charity thing my college do each year. This year it's for save the children, and basically all of year 13 get to 'break out' of the science block dressed in "wacky" costumes.
Anyhoo.
My group are having a Star Wars theme. This weekend I'm going to go and measure up our trailer (our transport for leaving the coach park) so that I can get some black material to cover it with. We're going to have stars on it and something like "the Force is with save the children" in silver.
For costumes some of us are dressing up as star wars characters, or, like me, a random jedi. Any ideas for how to make a costume/get a cheap lightsaber are welcome! :D

At this precise moment (ish) my sister and two of her friends are about half way through FotR. When I last looked in on them, they were dividing the Fellowship up as to who would marry each one. I do slightly retract my comment about how she is a good Padawan...heh. I must admit it disturbed me slightly to hear my likkle wikkle sister respond "Because they're really NICE!" when I asked why they were carrying out aforementioned activity. I'm, like...NOOO! You're my baby sister! You can't have...HORMONES! *gasp* One of them is a Legolas fangirl though, and Alex (a she) seemed discontent with the fact that she was 'left' with Merry. I didn't dare ask who my sister had picked, I think I would have run away...!
Anyhoo...I'm all hyped up on goodness know what...too much computer I think. Trouble is I need to go and do some work in a bit which is quite depressing.
OH OH I LIKE THIS SONG! *dances* YAAAAY!
I do apologise for what must be a very annoying post. *BOOGIES*
Oh! I think I am also in a odd mood because I'm listening to the music on headphones connected to the computer, which results in very fuzzy sound for some reason...hehe it's having a funny effect on me...

THE GOOD
-I've been reading Katie's journal, which made me happy for some reason!
-I'm going shopping in Guildford tomorrow (woo social life!)
-I watched Deep Impact last night...BABY ELIJAH! :D
-My Mummy is home :)
-I watched TORCHWOOD - which was really good, I thought. *cough* *licks Harkness* *cough*
-My sister is having an LotR marathon this evening...she learns well and is a good Padawan.
-I finally loaded pictures onto my laptop.
THE BAD
-It turns out that the 'deadline' for getting our Jailbreak transport sorted was way more flexible than we were told...my friend and I were kicked out of our original group and so worked really hard last week in order to get a group and get transport. NOW someone is going around offering places on their 30-seater open top bus, and Ellie - my fellow kick-outee - wants to go in the bus because most of her friends are. *sigh* I really want to as well, but I can't abandon my new group. NEXT TIME, RANDALL, GIVE US THE REAL DEADLINE.

As much as I love the books and slightly dislike the films, I just got a bit excited when I found...

Some photos from OotP...Luna is so sweet!
Hmm that reminds me...I really should do some work in my eng lang coursework. I'm "investigating" the "Language of Harry Potter" - comparing the language in the first to the sixth book to see whether the reading age etc has increased. Great stuff...

So...must of been a couple of years ago at least that I read Eragon. Last summer the sequal (second in the Inheritance trilogy) arrived - Eldest. I wasn't too impressed, but usually when I re-read something it's much better. (note to self: re-read Eldest)
It's supposed to be a children's book, and it is, but I liked it anyway - Eragon, not Eldest, that is.
My friend Lizzie and I are sort of 'fans' - although her much more than me. So when we heard that they were making a film of it, we were APPALLED. (however you spell it. dictionary too far away.) It was written by an American, fair enough, but we assumed that in the film they'd have American accents; a thought that terrified us because it sounded so cheesy! (no offence) Plus - with the exception of LotR - when they try to make a film of a book it's never usually quite right. (Another exception is I Capture the Castle.) An especiially dangerous territory for book-->film conversion is the world of fantasy, because it can just be so tacky and cheesy. AND I loved my imagined world of Alagaesia - I don't want it meddled by a film!
I've just watched the trailer.
And...well, as I far as my tone-deaf-to-accents hearing can tell, they've given them all british accents. So it's not that bad in that respect.
It DOES look slightly cheesy, but at the same time it kind of captures the "epic" streak in me, and I think I will have to exert serious self-control as so to reatin MY version of the Eragon world.
I'm not saying it looks good, but it's just...very DIFFERENT to how I imagined it would be.
However...
...even just on the few minutes of the trailer there were some serious LotR clone-scenes/similarities.
Roll on Dec. 15th...or not, I'm not too bothered!

Blergh...so THAT'S why I don't eat it...
I found a packet (of questionable age) in the cupboard and ate some...now I feel really ill! Hmm...maybe gum will make me feel better...yes...
*goes to get gum*
Mmm yes much better.
I'm taking advantage of my new brace-free teeth :D
So, yes...Monday...
It was quite good really. I can now sign off my uni application! Scary stuff.
Monday brings me...double free (which I spent emailing one person!), then english, double biology (in which I got very confused) and double german, which was pretty good. Learning about the JOYS of the political system. *snore*
User pics on here are so much fun!

Wow I haven't been on here for ages.
I'm annoyed with the people on myspace (i.e. "comment me!" "I've been hurt so many times" etc. etc.), so have ddecided to migrate temporarily back to the far better realm of LJ.
You never know, it may last! It's changed a lot...much more confusing than...hmm I think it was February. Argh that IS ages! SO much has happened since then! I'm at the wonderful stage of applying to uni, trying to get over various things and still bobbing merrily along. Wahay!

Jen and I made fab slides for the microscopes in biologie today :) We might get treats for it :)
Sooooo...oh yes! I've got a new job! Part-time waitressing at a conference centre a couple of miles away. Started on Friday night, and apart from dropping one fork, and discovering my shoes give me blisters, it was fine!
Next week is half term (hurrah!) and we're (mum, my sis and moi) going up to Glasgow to visit my Uncle, hs girlfriend and their two cats. I think we may go over to Edinborough (sp?!?) at some point too... yay! Although twill be FREEZING...brrr...so I brought some funky new stripey gloves today :D
Oooh today I discovered something rather fabtastic! A girl in my year group got into the final 80 for Luna Lovegood. I had no idea...hmms...
The girlie they have chosen is, methinks, not bad. At least she's a huge fan, makes it more bearable! And she looks Luna-ish (as in, she fits the description).

I have a couple of little questions :)
1)How do you do an entry on here, but make it so you have to
to read it? Something I've wanted to know for ages...
2)German television. Television in Germany. HELP! I need to KNOW STUFF about it but google isn't being too helpful...

Back to school on the morrow :( I could get used to life on study leave when I've finished exams.
Oooooh. Some news. Well, it's not very interesting, but I tell ye anyhow; 2 of my sister's friends went to audition for Luna. Didn't know that...weren't successful of course, or I'd be very excited (despite not actually knowing the two myself...). Fab. I still think katie should have gone. But, for all know she did...haven't heard from her for a while...hmmms should email her...
I already have plans for my birthday this year, despite it being aaaaall the way in July. Pirates of the Caribbean 2! It comes out the day after my 17th, so I do believe a trip en masse to the cinema will be in order.
My day was pretty productive until lunchtime, when I just...stopped. Did lots of german work like a good girl, including listening to 14 year old Johan talking about how he doesn't want to become an adult. Oh, but to keep us on our toes, he decides at the end he does want to be an adult. Fab.
Ah well, at least Wednesday is a half day. That reminds me, I really need to get some voluntary service organised...hurruh for being helpful...!

I now have a new saying: JIN JIN ON BOAT. Don't ask. It just amuses me for some unknown reason.

Well my day was monday-ish.
Execpt, I had no english lit because Mrs Greenland wasn't there.
Then Chemistry, biology (in which I got super confused)and german.
I have my little speaking sesh with a lady called Ursula (heh)monday afternoons, and by that point I feel in a very un-germanish mood.
And then we got bored by Dr Severn.
joy.

Evening!
Saw Harry Potter last night...and loooved it!
Dan Radcliffe has now almost completely mastered the whole acting thing! Made me so close to crying when he was accepting the fact Voldemort was going to kill him!
Wow...that makes me realy sad, doesn't it? Crying at a Harry Potter film...?
Can totally understand the 12A rating! I was scared at times! (okay, so I am THE biggest wuss in the world, but that is NOT my point)
The Death Eaters were pretty scary. Really reminded me of the Ku Klux Klan those freaky hood things. Brr.
